Mentoring

I work one-on-one with individuals who are looking for deeper, more sustained support. Some of these people identify as artists, some don't. If you feel you are at a turning point — creatively, personally, or both — and you want accompaniment rather than instruction, then mentoring could be for you.

Our time together is shaped around conversation, listening and reflection. I don’t offer formulas, systems or solutions. Instead, I bring attention, experience, and a steady presence to the questions you’re already living with.

People often come to this work when:
  • their life feels blocked, fragile, or uncertain
  • they are moving through a transition or reorientation
  • they want to live true without burning out or faking it
Mentoring usually happens over a defined period of time, rather than as a one-off conversation. It's all about trust, right?

Practical details:
  • One-on-one sessions
  • Offered in 3- or 6-month containers
  • In person (where possible) or online
  • Limited availability

Testimonials

"Daniel is a grounded and patient guide, teacher and mentor. He is also a transcendent, skilled, and gifted artist. He has walked many hard yards as poet and songwriter, continues to walk the talk (and sing the song), and is a worthy guide for you, whether you’ve walked the path a long time, have yet to take the first step, or just find yourself a little lost in the weeds."
- Rebecca, songwriter and vocal coach
"In a world of self-preserving irony, Daniel is unapologetically earnest. He is genuine and creates a space that shortcuts the feelings around ego and embarrassment that stop us from expressing ourselves. Also, just because he takes this seriously doesn’t mean it’s a sombre occasion, everything is taken with a heavy dose of self-awareness, silliness and fun."
- Will, songwriter and musician
"Daniel has a depth and understanding of words, lyricism and emotions. This forms a solid backdrop for his capacity to be present, genuine, and thoughtful as a tutor. I sought Daniel's assistance in refining a complex emotional poem for performance. He was compassionate, intelligent and curious, guiding me until I felt confident and proud. I would definitely seek Daniel's counsel again, for his wisdom, grace and encouragement."
- Samantha, poet and business owner
